Abstract

Sandwich type S/N/S Josephson junction using Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O high-Tc oxide thin film was successfully fabricated. Both counter and base electrodes were constructed by superconducting “2212” phase. “2201” phase of Bi system was chosen as normal conducting layer. The sandwich structure was obtained by in-situ sputter deposition process. The junction area of 20X40)μm2 was restricted by photo-lithography technique and Ar ion milling. The junction exhibited clear ac Josephson effect under rf irradiation. This is, in our knowledge, the first report of the sandwich type Josephson junction using Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O thin film.
