Abstract

The current study aimed to analyze the Student's Book of Action Pack Series (7-10) concerning its inclusion of various Jordanian national identity aspects within the drawings, reading texts, activities and dialogues. A content analysis sheet was used as a means to investigate the inclusion of certain aspects representing the Jordanian national identity. The results showed that the inclusion of specific Jordanian national aspects in the current analysis is acceptable according to the reading texts whereas for the remaining units of analysis such as dialogues, activities and drawings, there was a remarkable lack. The distribution of the investigated aspects of the Jordanian identity within Action Pack 7-10 was not equal according to the textbooks' content. These findings highlight the need to incorporate additional Jordanian national identity aspects within Action Pack Series. Keywords: Action Pack Series, Content Analysis, Jordan, National Identity
