Abstract

In this paper, a performance driven joint trajectory design and power allocation (JTDPA) scheme is developed for target tracking application in airborne radar network (ARN). The key idea of this scheme is to collaboratively exploit the maneuverability of aircraft and the adaptable transmit power of radar network to maximize the target tracking performance. The practical constraints including the threat zone, as well as the aircraft's maneuverability and the total transmit power budget are considered. By building the JTDPA scheme as a mathematical optimization problem, we can utilize the heuristic algorithm to solve the problem. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed JTDPA scheme can greatly improve the target tracking performance.
