Abstract

In a multicarrier-based communication system, the sidelobe power should be reduced to prevent interference between the adjacent signals. Likewise, the innate issue of high peak-to-mean envelope power ratio (PMEPR) of the multicarrier signal is another disadvantage in transmission. A countable number of methodologies exist in the literary sources to deal with one of these problems separately, whereas, in this paper, we discuss a method to jointly reduce sidelobe power and PMEPR in multicarrier communication system. We modelled an optimization problem for minimizing the sidelobe power and PMEPR of conventional OFDM signal. The ZC sequence is modelled such that both sidelobe and PMEPR can be jointly reduced for radar application. The proposed methodology provides momentous reduction in PMEPR and sidelobe power without distorting the signal.
