Abstract

In this paper, we discuss joint processing (JP) of Coordinated Multi-Point Transmission (CoMP) in high speed railway environment. The differences between public radio communication scenario and the high speed railway scenario are researched, and the feasibility of CoMP in high speed railway scenario is analyzed. Since delay is an important factor in JP, we evaluate the impact of transmission delay on the performance of JP. Simulation results show that CoMP can improve the transmission reliability, especially at the cell edge. However, transmission delay will degrade the performance of JP, especially in high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).
