Abstract

Based on a function of user, the joint packet scheduling and base station assignment for downlink in a wireless CDMA data network is considered in this paper, where base station assignment and packet scheduling are integrated to pursue the maximal system throughput. In detail, based on a given packet scheduling, mobile users base station assignment is adjusted to attempt to maximize the system throughput. It is discovered from the analysis that the joint packet scheduling and base station assignment can be implemented in a distributed way rather than in a centralized way. Thus a distributed joint packet scheduling and base station assignment is offered. By simulation, it is shown that the system throughput has a great increase in the distributed way.
