Abstract

In this paper, we stress the problem of joint direction-of-departure (DOD) and direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation for bistatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar in the presence of unknown spatially colored noise. By utilizing the sparse structure of the noise covariance as well as the lower-rank tensor property of the signal counterpart, a tensor completion approach is presented for de-noising. Thereafter, joint DOD and DOA estimation is accomplished via the tensor subspace technique. Unlike the state-of-the-art spatial correlation method, the proposed method would not hurt the virtual aperture of MIMO radar, and it achieves more accurate estimation performance than the existing methods. Numerical simulations verify the effectiveness of our algorithm.
