Abstract
Joint estimation of the direction of arrival (DOA) and the polarization for monostatic polarimetric multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar is studied in this paper. The MUSIC algorithm is utilized for DOA and polarization estimation. And the Cramer-Rao bound of the polarimetric MIMO radar signal model is derived. Simulation results show that polarimetric MIMO radar system has more identifiable targets than that of conventional MIMO radar. Besides, polarimetric MIMO radar system has higher estimation accuracy than conventional MIMO radar and polarization sensitive array. (4 pages)
