Abstract
A method is proposed for joint detection of independent, identically-distributed (IID) zero-mean bivariate Gaussian noise sequences. Received sequences are used to estimate ratio statistics that span a three-dimensional basis, and deviations from an asymptotic form are used to generate the final detection statistic. Sensitivities of the measure to statistical deviations are shown. The technique is applied to radiometric detection and is shown to achieve performance close to ideal energy detection, but without requirements for noise estimation.
