Abstract

The three-dimensional finite element ANSYS software is used to establish the piezoelectric impedance model for a prefabricated structure with joint defects. The widely used grouting sleeve is taken into account in the analysis. Meanwhile, six working conditions including the different paste position of the piezoelectric patches and the grouting direction etc., are considered. From the finite element simulation, the piezoelectric impedance signals are obtained. Then, the joint defects can be identified qualitatively using a statistical method. It can be seen that piezoelectric impedance analysis can effectively identify defects in the structure nodes. Furthermore, using compressed sensing (CS), principal component analysis (PCA) and artificial neural networks (ANN) system, the joint defects are identified quantitatively.
