Abstract

Abstract: This chapter reviews key joining methods for automotive materials. It first summarises the main classes of material used in automotive engineering. The chapter then goes on to discuss different joining technologies such as laser beam welding and brazing, adhesive bonding and mechanical fastening techniques such as folding and riveting. It also reviews hybrid joining systems.
