Abstract
The present case study highlights a novel route to join the dissimilar thermoplastic based composite materials by friction stir welding for batch production. The proposed route is based upon maintaining the melt flow index of dissimilar thermoplastic materials. The joints were subjected to tensile, flexural, and morphological analysis to investigate the influences of process parameters. Finally the joint prepared at best settings were subjected to statistical quality control analysis for preparation of X chart, process capability index (Cp and Cpk). The result of case study suggest that the process is under statistical controlled with value of Cp and Cpk near to 1 at the proposed best setting of input parameters.
