Abstract

In 2001 the Department of Health instructed NHS trusts to develop networks to support black and minority ethnic staff. Since then networks have fallen out of favour and may have folded. Supporters argue that trusts neglect networks at their peril- they are an in valuable source of intelligence about what is happening to front line staff and patients.
