excerpt On March 27, 1962, Dr. John W. MacDonald died in St. Barnabas Hospital, Minneapolis, Minn., following an illness of several months. Dr. Mac-Donald was bom in Minneapolis in 1921 and attended Blake School and the University of Minnesota. He received his M.D. degree from the latter institution in 1946. After an internship at Wesley Memorial Hospital, Chicago, in 1945, he served with the United States Public Health Service for two years, 1946–48. Returning to the University of Minnesota, he entered postgraduate training in radiology, which he completed in 1951. In December of that year he joined the radiological staff of St. Barnabas Hospital, continuing this connection until his death. Dr. MacDonald was a member of the American Medical Association, the Minnesota State Medical Society, the Hennepin County Medical Society, the Radiological Society of North America, and the American College of Radiology.
