Abstract

Project now under construction on lower Columbia River, is multipurpose navigation, flood control, and power project, forming final link in slack-water development; important factors in project planning and study procedures that lead to economic determination of site, layout, and operating pool levels are presented; method of river diversion during construction establishment of size, characteristics, and number of generating units, and other project features are examined.
