Abstract

Recent years have seen an upsurge of interest in ethical issues on the part of nurses working with older people. In this American study, phenomenological methodology was used to explore the ethical concerns of 18 older people, and 12 of their children or grandchildren. The participants described 184 ethical problems, and the researcher was then able to condense them into ten content categories. These content categories were then validated by outside experts.
