Abstract

How do hospital dietitians feel about their positions? Are they satisfied, or do the positions fall short in meeting psychologic needs—and in what respects? A survey is reported here of 125 hospital dietitians with respect to how important they feel fifteen psychologic needs to be and the degree to which these needs are met or not met in their positions. The findings could provide insight for improving the balance between expectations and realization, thus increasing job satisfaction and, potentially, managerial performance.
