Performance ImprovementVolume 37, Issue 8 p. 32-35 Article Job aids in the technology age Jim Elsenheimer, Jim Elsenheimer jelsenheimer@atinc.com Jim Elsenheimer has served as a performance technologist with Interactive Media Corporation for the past 12 years. His work experience has centered on developing innovative strategies for training and supporting the performance of customer-service personnel within the telecommunications industry. Projects include everything from job aids and instructor-led courses to computer-based training and multimedia programs. Jim is a long-time advocate for the “simpler is better” philosophy of design and continually seeks to refine interventions to their most efficient form. The goal of good intervention design is to make the complicated look—and be—simple. A competitive runner and triathlete, Jim regularly applies performance improvement strategies to his training and competition. Jim also pursues innovative paths to improve one's quality of life. His monthly column in Pennsylvania Health and Fitness magazine uses common sports experiences to discuss how to apply their lessons as broader life wisdom.
