Abstract
This case study focuses on the life and work of Joaquín Costa. He was a Spanish intellectual who in late 19th century and early 20th century started the intellectual and political movement called Regenerationism. This movement emerged in response against the political system of Spanish Restoration.

Zasłużonym twórcą dla hiszpańskiej kultury i nauki był działający w tym okresie Joaquín Costa. Celem artykułu jest przede wszystkim przedstawienie sylwetki bohatera i ukazanie jego działań, a zwłaszcza poglądów dotyczących odnowy państwa hiszpańskiego przełomu XIX i XX wieku. Na przełomie XIX i XX wieku w Hiszpanii pojawiły się nowoczesne ruchy polityczne, które szybko zdobyły popularność mas. Konflikt ukazał nie tylko słabość armii hiszpańskiej, ale również państwa.
