Abstract

By using the gravity dual, the passage of a light quark (``jet'') through a strongly coupled N=4 super Yang-Mills plasma of finite length is studied, finding that the ``jet'' emerging from the plasma looks remarkably similar to a ``jet'' in vacuum with the same reduced energy. The energy loss of such ``jets'' is calculated, showing a Bragg peak when the length of the plasma reaches the stopping distance.
