Father Parmananda Divarkar, S.J., of India, is at present based in Rome as an assistant to the General of the Society of Jesus with responsibility for following questions of mission and of ecumenism in the Jesuit Order. He is a consultant to the CWME Commission. This paper is based on a presentation at the CWME Executive Committee meeting in May 1982 in Ventnor, New Jersey, USA.
