Abstract

From now on, data sets made by combining data from various multiple satellite sensors are increasingly important. JERS-1(Japanese Earth Resources Satellite-1) which has SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) and OPS (OPtical Sensor) will be launched by H-I rocket from Tanegashima Space Center, NASDA and ERS-1(European Remote Sensing Satellite-1) which has several sensors mainly for ocean monitoring will be also launched early in 1991. NASDA is planning to conduct JERS-1/ERS-1 Verification Program and will prepare for future satellite verification program such as ADEOS(ADvanced Earth Observing Satellite), TRMM (Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission) and JPOP(Japanese Polar Plarform. In this paper, outline of JERS-1/ERS-1 verification program and future verification program will be presented.
