Abstract

This writing aims to find out what kind of motivation farmers have in cultivating corn, what forms of local wisdom farmers have in cultivating corn and what local wisdom is in the stages of cultivating corn in Wali Village, Watopute District, Muna Regency. With a total of 36 informants. The method in this research uses qualitative analysis, namely observation, interviews using interview guides and documentation. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. The research results show that the types of farmer motivation consist of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, where the most dominant motivation of farmers is to fulfill living needs and increase income with a percentage of 100%. The form of local wisdom of farmers consists of tangible and intangible forms. Local wisdom in corn farming in Wali Village, Watopute District, Muna Regency consists of desolo, katingka, defomatai, defotobhoe and detongka. The application of local wisdom also aims to maintain traditions that have been taught from generation to generation by previous ancestors.
