Abstract

An atretic segment of jejunum was resected from twin, premature, female infants with evidence of congenital rubella. The frequent association of proliferative vascular lesions in infants with rubella, and the importance of intrauterine vascular insufficiency in the pathogenesis of intestinal atresia, suggest that the jejunal defects resulted from infection during gestation.
