Abstract

The aim of the paper is to describe the prosodic, syntactic and semantic properties of the operational iterating unit w atr /w atr /w . The properties of this unit were initially discussed by Adam Dobaczewski (2009). This paper concentrates on the phrase daleki daleki spacer ‘long, long walk’, which exemplifies the operational unit w atr /w atr /w . First, the prosodic features and syntactic properties of the discussed unit are presented. The semantic analysis shows the difference between synsyntagmatic lexems (as defined by Wajszczuk 2005) and the unit under examination (both intensify the meaning of the attributive expression). Next, the paper considers the attributes that can be reduplicated, and the change of utterance meaning caused by this kind of operation. Finally, the semantic representation of the unit w atr /w atr /w is presented.
