Abstract

The radical right Front National of Jean‐Marie Le Pen is expected to do well in the forthcoming French parliamentary elections. A thorn in the flesh of the French political establishment, Le Pen is tirelessly anti‐immigrant but appeals to something much wider: an entire system of values which is seen to have been eroded by an insidious process of political and moral compromise.
