Abstract
A cluster expansion for an infinite system of bosons or fermions is presented together with a diagrammatic representation and simple rules for writing the various terms. The expansion is shown to be linked and irreducible. The explicit expression so obtained is convenient for performing partial summations of terms associated with different orders of the expansion.
