Abstract

Beginning with this issue, the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association (JAPhA) is now published by Elsevier. Since its inception, APhA (then called the American Pharmaceutical Association) began to publish the APhA Proceedings, a predecessor to JAPhA. Following a variety of formats and journal names, in 1996 the APhA Board of Trustees committed to the present-day JAPhA, whose able editorial staff included L. Michael Posey as pharmacy editor and then executive editor through mid-2015. I am grateful for his and others’ many contributions over the years of JAPhA’s evolution to its present-day form. But change is inevitable. Sir Winston Churchill is credited with the quote, “There is nothing wrong with change, if it is in the right direction.” I am pleased with this strategic partnership with Elsevier, as it helps position JAPhA well for the future.
