Abstract
Abstract Japan's Landscape in Literature provides a connection between children's literature and geography. When teaching about the country and culture of Japan, selective literature can bridge the gap between worlds, Literature is filled with geographic concepts, and when using the selections cited below along with the suggested activities, the reader becomes involved in utilizing a variety of geographic skills. Most of the literature and activities can be adapted for use in K-6 classrooms. All activities incorporate reading, writing, listening, speaking, social studies, and art but all are designed to feature geography. From the literature and activities, children will gain knowledge about and develop an awareness of the country and culture of Japan.
