Abstract
The paper presents the method for calculating radar jamming efficiency and results. It contains a brief description of the main method for jamming the land-based radars by jammers installed on the airborne platforms. The basic mathematical formulas for calculating the efficiency of active radar jamming are presented. The results of calculations have been illustrated on the respective diagrams. The realization of effective radar jamming in electronic countermeasures (ECM) systems depends mainly on the precise knowledge of radar and the jammer's technical parameters, the distance between them, the assumed value of the suppression coefficient, the conditions of electromagnetic wave propagation and the applied jamming method. The conclusions from the calculations facilitate making a decision regarding how jamming should be conducted to achieve high efficiency.
