Abstract

In 2012, the rotordynamics test stand had been built in Kakuda Space Center to measure the rotordynamic fluid force acting on rocket turbopump components. The vibration exciter of this test stand adopts the active magnetic bearings. They make it possible to shake the rotor with arbitrary whirling radius and frequency in a radial and axial direction. Additionally, the active magnetic bearings increase the precision of measurement by levitating the rotor without disturbance. The test stand was verified to meet the specification demand by several kinds of tests. The excitation performance of the vibration exciter is as follows, the maximum whirling radius is 150 μm and the maximum whirling frequency is 100Hz in a radial direction. After the accomplishment, the rotordynamic fluid force acting on a centrifugal open impeller was measured by using this test stand. These experimental results were well accorded with the experimental results which were conducted in another test stand with the same test object and condition. Many data about the rotordynamic fluid force acting on various kinds of component will be measured by using this test stand.
