Abstract

In this paper, transformation acoustics, as an analog of transformation optics, is numerically treated. The transformation acoustics can design acoustic cloaks that make an object invisible to acoustic waves. The theoretical basis is on the invariance of sound pressure equation under coordinate transformation. In order to simulate transformation acoustics for arbitrary configuration of an object, we use a finite element analysis software COMSOL Multiphysics, which is a commercial software and can handle the transformation of coordinate systems, moreover, can directly describe differential operators as mathematical expression. We demonstrated the present method can be implemented easily and worked well in computer simulation of transformation acoustics.
