Abstract

An encyrtid wasp, Ixodiphagus texanus, was found parasitizing larvae and nymphs of the rabbit tick, Haemaphysalis leporispalustris, that had engorged on snowshoe hares, Lepus americanus, in a study area in southwestern Nova Scotia. Laboratory experiments on the development of the wasp and observations on the seasonal occurrence on wild-caught hosts indicated the wasp has at least two generations per year.
