Abstract

PGD using FISH has been for many years the most common method to diagnose unbalanced embryos in translocation carriers. It is now thought that the use of aCGH for diagnosis of structural chromosome abnormalities in early human embryos may be more comprehensive than FISH by allowing simultaneous aneuploidy screening for all 24 chromosomes. The aim of this study was to compare IVF outcomes of patients who underwent IVF-PGD for either reciprocal or Robertsonian translocations, with either FISH + 5 chromosomes (X, Y, 13, 18, 21) or aCGH with 24-chromosome aneuploidy screening.
