Abstract
Just over40 delegates attended this neutron satellite meeting on the Structural & Dynamical Aspects of Molecular & Ionic Solids Using Neutrons from August 1–3, 1999. The meeting was held in the attractive surroundings of Merton College Oxford under the auspices of the IUCr Neutron Scattering Commission with the support of the ISIS Pulsed Neutron Source (Rutherford Appleton Laboratory). Delegates came from ten countries and. more than 40 percent came from outside Europe. The meeting took place in unusually warm weather, which showed off the Merton College gardens to best effect. The shady avenues were used for informal discussions.
