Abstract

In today’s world, the impact of the economy and the environment is greatlyinfluencing our food systems and changing the way we produce, manage andeat our food. Food insecurity is increasing amongst the world’s most at riskpopulations and it is especially prevalent in Northern regions of the world.The increasing cost of food stuffs compounded with high transportation costsas well as environmental contamination is putting this vulnerable populationin jeopardy of even greater food insecurity. A call to action to bring foodsecurity issues to light has never been greater.
