Abstract

In this work a system architecture model for the provision of advanced information services in the context of public transport of passengers by road is presented. The main aim of this model is to provide a frame for systematic development of ubiquitous services integrated in transport infrastructures. The proposed architecture is based on standard specification about ITS architectures and ubiquitous paradigm. To illustrate the utility of the proposed model, a case of use is presented, specifically an intelligent surveillance system for on route public transport vehicles that has been developed using the proposed model.
