Abstract
the LCD structure and leading to compact LC devices with thickness scales that are smaller than those currently used. In this communication, we demonstrate an ITO-free and more compact color LCD structure. The key to our design is the integration of a structural color fi lter and a graphene electrode to control the LC orientation, thereby eliminating two layers of ITO from the currently dominant LCD design.
