Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper reports results derived from a study of 4,248 Mainland Chinese respondents as to preferred itineraries in the south-western United States. The paper thus serves to (a) discuss the role of itineraries in tourism planning (b) discuss typologies of itineraries and (c) discuss the preferences of potential Chinese tourists to the United States in the context of relaxations to the Approved Destination Status (ADS) of the United States with reference to permitted group holiday tours from China that have been permitted since June 2008.
