Abstract

This paper is a survey of recent developments in iterative techniques for solving equation systems. The review draws on the authors' own results and applied experience using the latest generation economic models. It is shown that first-order iterative methods can be efficient and simple to use in large sparse systems, and that they can be easily extended to give global convergence for arbitrary real equation systems.
