Abstract

In this paper, a turbo like transceiver for multiple input multiple output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system is presented. At the transmitter, convolutionally coded and modulated symbols are encoded by a only one cycle (OOC) space time encoder. At the receiver, a sub- optimal receiver performs two successive decisions, achieved by a maximum a posteriori probability (MAP) detector and a soft-input soft-output (SISO) channel decoder through an iterative process. At each iteration, extrinsic information is exchanged between the detector and the decoder. Simulation results show the iterative receiver offers performance gain over non-iterative receiver and the OOC space time encoder can get performance gains on the fast fading channel.
