Abstract

Space-time block coding is an effective transmit diversity technique to improve the quality of wireless services. The scenario of single-carrier transmission of two independent space-time block coded signals over frequency-selective fading channels is considered. Starting from the conventional joint interference cancellation and equalization scheme, we develop an iterative detection algorithm which improves the system performance while maintaining low complexity, and a detection ordering strategy based on the minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion is proposed to improve the reliability of initial detection.
