Abstract
ABSTRACTA case has recently been made in these pages for the inclusion of rock music in research library collections. This article argues that the literature of rock music should also be collected in order to overcome gaps in current collections. The case for the inclusion of this material is based on its importance as a major part of an influential form of literary expression (new journalism), and for the unique view it gives of many of the major social issues of the post war years. A brief, annotated bibliography of recommended titles is included.
