I-surveillance: Intelligent surveillance system using background subtraction technique

Abstract

Abandoned object detection has been an important and hard problem in computer vision and image processing application. The system provides a powerful technique for unattended object detection called “I-surveillance: Intelligent surveillance system using background subtraction technique”. CCTV cameras or surveillance systems are available to almost everywhere nowadays. CCTV cameras act as a third eye for surveillance systems. The system uses background subtraction technique to find abandoned objects left by someone else deliberately or by mistake. The system is divided into two different phases- Abandoned object detection, Human blob detection. So that it provides an effective way to find most rejected objects to the user. It is a real time abandoned object detection system. At last by generating the alarm this system helps in increasing the efficiency of security system. So that this system provides user friendly mechanism to the users by providing video sequence as input to the system to find left over baggage or object. General Terms: RGB to LAB, AOD
