Abstract

In this paper, several important issues on the integrated design of Fault Detection and Diagnosis (FDD) schemes together with Reconfigurable Control (RC) for Active Fault-Tolerant Control Systems (AFTCS) are addressed and discussed. The existing approaches in FDD and RC are briefly reviewed and examined from integrated design of FDD and RC viewpoint. The role of FDD in AFTCS, the applicability, suitability and issues in existing FDD approaches for AFTCS are examined and outlined. The need, development, and design considerations for integrated design to fault detection, diagnosis and reconfigurable control are discussed.
