Abstract

The authors analyze the content and functional specificity of the phenomenon of tolerance and explore the possibilities of media in the formation of interethnic media culture of participants in the communication space. It is shown that journalism and the media form the interethnic media culture of participants in the communication space and demonstrate models of political and social behavior to the audience, including certain stereotypes of citizens’ interethnic and intercultural tolerance. The article examines tolerance as the perception and understanding of other cultures, ways of self-expression, and manifestation of human individuality.
