Abstract

To judge from historical records, the history of the Chinese youth movement dates back eighty to ninety years. Over the decades, the movement has bequeathed us significant amounts of historical data as well as knowledge of practical experience. The organizations of the CCP and the Youth League have made many scientific summations of the youth movement; our revolutionary leaders have also made many profound pronouncements on the subject. But to approach the youth movement as a field of systematic research is a new development of the last few years. The history of the youth movement is a new displine, and many theoretical issues await further inquiry.
