COVER PHOTOGRAPH: Repeated, colorized scanning electron micrographs of the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster, in which a portion of the ventral head epidermis has been transformed into an ectopic eye by the forced expression of the retinal determination gene sine oculis.
