Abstract

The views in this paper are those of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of the Australian Government Over the past few years debate on electronic transactions and their legal status has centred around the use of digital or electronic signatures. The APEC Electronic Authentication Task Group has looked beyond the digital signature question and has examined the whole range of electronic authentication technologies and issues involved with their implementation.
