The author of many books and hundreds of articles on nuclear war and nuclear terrorism, he has been closely involved with Israeli security issues, including service as Chairman of Project Daniel, a senior private advisory on nuclear matters to Israel's Prime Ministers. Professor Beres has worked closely with certain elements of the military and intelligence communities of both the United States and Israel. Professor Beres was educated at Princeton (Ph.D., 1971), and was born in Zurich, Switzerland at the end of World War II.
